Double Mystery Tourbillon x Hom Nguyen

A unique piece

United for the first time, with the same inspiration: a collaboration between Franck Muller's know-how and the talent of artist Hom Nguyen, they are now offering to their collectors an exceptional work of art: a Cintrée Curvex™ Double Mystery with a Tourbillon at 6 o'clock.

The artist drew directly on the matt black dial giving free inspiration to his pen to represent the face of a child looking up to the sky. A look charged with emotion and hope where the line gives itself as a path of life. From one line to the next, the drawing embodies the trajectories of human lives.

Instead of hands, the time is indicated on rotating discs thanks to the famous Double Mystery complication. Thus, the face takes shape when the discs are perfectly aligned at 12 o'clock, a game between imprint and disappearance. Entirely hand-drawn and assembled in the purest watchmaking tradition, this unique timepiece is equipped with manual winding mechanical movement manufactured by Franck Muller, and has a power reserve of 60 hours.

Exhibited for the first time at the World Presentation of Haute Horlogerie – WPHH – in 2022 within the Franck Muller Manufacture, the artistic work has been presented throughout the world at ephemeral exhibitions for a year in an exceptional box. This beautiful timepiece has already been showcased in Singapore and Dubai.

A box of 65 centimeters in length, 45 centimeters in width and 35 centimeters in height, entirely decorated with the faces of children the artist met in Cambodia. A unique box that embodies Hom's love for life, drawings with instinctive and dynamic strokes that come to life in a striking and uninhibited way, small details that underpin the uniqueness of a person.

Through this work, Franck Muller and Hom Nguyen write the continuation of a story that began more than 20 years ago, in a district of Paris. To honour this collaboration as well as the story behind this work of art, the timepiece will be auctioned. The funds will be donated to an orphanage in Cambodia.

About Hom Nguyen :

Born in 1972, this French artist of Vietnamese origin is the son of a mother who immigrated to France in the 1970s. It is after her death, in 2009, that Hom Nguyen fully commits himself to an artistic path, guided by an urgent need to express himself.

Through his subjects, Hom Nguyen's work is universal, questioning human destiny, between joy and sorrow, cry and silence, presence and loss. The artist's work is particularly sensitive to the human values that Hom Nguyen embodies and conveys: a feeling of peace, respect, communion, spirituality. These values are for him the foundation of all art: a path that connects one man to another.

Self-taught artist who is characterized by an instinctive and figurative style, Hom Nguyen received in 2021 the honorable distinction of Chevalier de l’Ordre national du Mérite.
